Focusing on the complex syntactic mechanisms at work in “Mrs Dalloway in Bond Street”, this article brings to light the experimental quality in Woolfs writing. Though the short story clearly appears as a forerunner of Mrs Dalloway, it also differs from the novel to come in some crucial aspects.
